Ricky completed his law degree at the University of Otago in 2009, passing with first class honours, alongside a Bachelor of Arts. He was admitted to the bar in 2010 and spent his first years working in the corporate/commercial department at Bell Gully in Wellington.
In 2012, he and his wife moved up to the Bay of Plenty. Ricky then spent a few years practicing at another Tauranga law firm before moving in-house to work at Zespri International Limited where he spent almost five years advising that company on a wide variety of kiwifruit-related matters. Ricky joined the Burley Attwood team in July 2019.
He is primarily based in our Te Puke office and his practice areas are Property Law, Trusts, Company Law, Succession and Business Planning. He has a particular interest in kiwifruit and other rural and agribusiness matters helping rural clients and their families to succeed. His time working in-house has helped him to focus on practical solutions for commercially minded clients.
Outside of work, Ricky enjoys running, fishing and guitar. His wife and two kids, together with their lifestyle property, keep him busy.
